Tuesday 9th July - Chinese Students Visit London

It was really early start for all the students with the train leaving Peterborough at 9am heading to London Kings Cross. The students were really excited as for most of them they hadn't been to London before. After arriving at London Kings Cross we navigated the London Underground and headed straight for the Science Museum, the students were given some time to have a look around and play on a number of the interactive displays located over the 6 floors.

Unfortunately an hour wasn't quite long enough but with tummies rumbling we headed off on the underground to the Hard Rock Cafe where the students were treated to a meal, ice cream and some British Rock and Roll. The food was delicious and the students were now full and ready to continue with their sight seeing. We headed back to the tube where were crossed over to Westminster bridge, just in time to hear Big Ben strike 3pm. A quick photo of that and the houses of Parliament before heading to the London Eye and a River cruise.

The students were really excited about the Eye and with it being such a lovely clear day were able to see right across London taking in sights such as Buckingham Palace, St Pauls Cathedral, the BT tower, Tower bridge and the Shard. Straight after we were able to take the river cruise where the students were shown the London sights close up with a guide giving information about each historic building we passed. With the weather being so nice some students were far to hot to even sit on the top deck and prefered to sit in the shade and take in the views. After getting off, the students voted on whether they wanted to go to Buckingham Palace or Covent Garden for some shopping. Unsurprisingly we then made our way on the underground to Covent garden.  The students had some time to quickly shop before dashing back to make the train. I am sure all the students will sleep well tonight after a thoroughly enjoyable day.
