Day 2

Well this was a busy day!  We started with a good breakfast at the hostel, we were all being very French drinking our coffee in a bowl!

We were soon off to the Métro to the Arc de Triomphe at the top of the world famous avenue; les Champs Elysées.  We climbed to the top for some great views over the 8 avenues around the Arc.  A spot of shopping on the avenue, a quick snack at “le McDo” and off we went to our first big gallery; Musée d’Orsay.  Art students went off to see the impressionists, The Art and designs students looked at Art Nouveau posters whilst the French students had a wander round some of the most famous paintings and the 1920’s furniture.  We had plenty of time before dinner so we decided to do a little detour to see the Eiffel Tower.  Plenty of photo opportunities there!

Three course dinner on the Champs Elysées gave us a welcome opportunity to recharge the batteries.  After dinner, we went to the Hotel de Ville and Notre Dame.  No Quasimodo in sight, we made our way back to the hotel for a chilled evening listening to live music in the café.  An open mike was just too tempting for some of our more musical students and our very own Darcey and Aisha got up to sing!  Perfect end to another fantastic day!
