Jack Hunt School has been awarded Leadership Academy Status by Sports Leaders UK.

The Academy status recognises the high commitment the school places on developing leadership, especially Sports leadership within the school community.

In recognising Jack Hunt School, Sports Leaders UK wrote, “You have earned this unique status because you have been able to demonstrate your commitment to the philosophy of Sports Leaders UK and the benefits of leadership to young people and the community”.

Jack Hunt School delivers a number of Sports Leader courses helping students to develop fundamental leadership skills throughout their school life.

Chris Game, Assistant Headteacher said, “We are extremely proud of this recognition from Sports Leaders UK. We place great emphasis on leadership at Jack Hunt School and offer students a range of opportunities to develop skills and qualifications in sports leadership”.

To celebrate becoming a Leadership Academy, Maria Turnbull-Kemp from Sports Leaders UK presented a plaque on Thursday 24 January 2012 to Headteacher, Pamela Kilbey. This presentation also provided an opportunity to see the Sports Leaders in action during a Multi-Skill Sports Festival for Year 4 pupils from the school’s cluster Primary Schools.
