Return from Homestay

Just a short blog post to say that all are safely back from homestay. Over the course of the later afternoon to evening they arrived back, laden with gifts and clearly well fed and well rested. They have been to markets, shops, restaurants, theme parks, strawberry farms, cake making & gardens. They have had a great time and have been so well looked after by the host families and their host students, I think that some lifelong friendships have been forged.

This evening Mr Smith and Mrs Wheatley had a  meal with the leadership team from Pu Xing school, as a thank you for the dodgeball training we led there and also to begin to plan the return visit to the UK in the summer.

Not a great deal of time to rest as tonight we have been busy planning our lessons for tomorrow. We are teaching English to year 2 and year 7 here at the Apple School, and also at the two Pu Guang migrant workers schools will teach English and dodgeball. This is always a highlight of the trip. First thing tomorrow is the flag raising ceremony, this is a very formal whole school gathering – around 5000 students, to start the week, and we are guests of honour. We are hoping for sunshine, but if it rains we will be welcomed in the school TV studio and this will be broadcast around the school, into each classroom!
