Applying for apprenticeships with Amazon

Some interesting news this week for students who are interested in applying for apprenticeships:

Retailer Amazon is set to make numerous new job opportunities available over the next two years, with over 1,000 roles on offer for those who wish to embark on an apprenticeship in the UK. The apprentices will work across Amazon operations and corporate sites once they have qualified, including at the company’s three development centres in the cities of Edinburgh, Cambridge and London, as well as the head office, which is also located in the capital.

There will be nine different programmes on offer, ranging from IT, safety and human resources to software engineering, robotics, leadership and technology. More than 90 new Amazon bachelors and masters degree-level apprenticeships will also be available over the next two years as part of the programme. These roles will focus on software development engineering, senior leadership and automation, with both in-work and in-classroom training. The programmes will last between 13 months and four years long. Salaries look set to range from an entry level starting salary of £9.50/£10.50 an hour, all the way up to £30,000 a year, the company said.  Applications for the apprenticeship programmes will open on Monday 4 March.
