Sports College

Olympic Gold Medallist Darren Campbell opened the Jack Hunt School Sports College in September 2007.  Through the PE curriculum students will focus on the development and application of physical skills, enhance their ability to evaluate performance and gain a greater knowledge and awareness of health and fitness.  In addition to this there is a very strong focus on leadership.  A leadership pathway exists for students to complete from when they join the school, right through to the end of Year 13.  Most of these opportunities are offered through the completion of Sports Leader qualifications (please see Leadership for Life poster below).

The Sports College runs a comprehensive enrichment programme with many inter-school fixtures should students wish to represent their school.   Each term a poster is published advertising the clubs on offer to students.  This is also sent out on Parentmail.  They are all usually FREE (please see Enrichment information).  Students will also experience inter-house sporting competitions where they can work together to gain house points.  Examples include Kingball, Rounders, Indoor Rowing and Swimming.
