Summer Newsletter 2018

Thank you for all your support during yet another busy and successful year.

Thank you for all your support during yet another busy and successful year.  Students and Staff, supported by you, have worked extremely hard this year and we look forward to this continuing in the new academic year.

Following the awful news we received in January 2018 that our building project was going to be delayed due to the collapse of Carillion, colleagues have been working extremely hard to restart this work and on making sure our facilities can accommodate welcoming our additional intake from September 2018.  We are extremely hopeful that our building site will again be a hive of activity during the Autumn Term as the Local Authority intends to appoint new contractors over the summer break. After this unfortunate and unforeseen delay, we are all very much looking forward to having our wonderful new building with all-weather sports pitch in operation for September 2019. In the meantime, this summer will be busy as we undergo refurbishment work within our existing site and some of the rooms are repurposed to help us meet the needs of a larger Year 7 cohort in the short term.

To those Parents/Carers and students who are leaving us this year, and no siblings remain in the school, we hope that your time with us has been a happy one and that you feel we have supported your child well and that they have been given a range of opportunities whilst in our care.

As Kite, our current Virtual Learning Platform, comes to an end we are preparing to introduce a brand new system called Firefly.  There will be plenty of information coming your way in September as we launch the new system and we hope that it will support all of us in enhancing the way that we work, from setting homework and giving feedback to keeping everyone in touch with what is going on.

We have created two new booklets with key information in regarding uniform and school life.  These can be found below.
